No Candy For Easter!?

Posted by on

Each year we (Laura and James) try to come up with Easter basket ideas, that are not full of sweets...

I know, I know... The typical Easter basket is full of Reese's Peanut Butter Eggs, hollow milk chocolate bunnies, and jelly beans... but we do our best to limit how much sugar our kiddos consume.  After a day or two of sweets, our kids tend to turn into little monsters... and nobody likes that... including their own little bodies!

We also get that kids do enjoy getting something special to snack on.   So this year we opted for OCHO organic and fair trade chocolate caramel eggs.  It is important to us to purchase fair trade chocolate, and these cute little eggs were the prefect sweet addition to our baskets.  As for the egg hunt, we will be using Annie's Organic Friends Bunny Graham Crackers.  The kids love these, and they are a special treat... so it's a win:win for us all!

This year we also tried to support other small and local businesses.  We know how important it is to shop small when possible, and love supporting our fellow local entrepreneurs.

Below is a list of some of the items we've included in our basket this year:

🧼 Boring Goats Non-Scents animal shaped soap (available now)
🚗 Disney themed Hot Wheel
🥪 Sewing State of Mine reusable sandwich and snack bags
🎨 Melissa & Doug paint with water book
🦒 Disney Parks Jungle Cruise Animals book
🐰 Elegance Restored handcrafted & fair trade hand crocheted bunny
🍫 OCHO organic and fair trade chocolate caramel egg

If you would like to follow these amazing brands on Instagram, I've included their handles below.

@sewingstateofmine, @elegance_restored, @melissaanddougtoys, @ocho.chocolate, @disney, @disneyland, @hotwheelsofficial, and of course... yours truly @boringgoats

We hope no matter what is in your basket... you and your family have a wonderful Easter!
